let's get dirty

This is Dirty. A 1996 Land Rover Defender 90 that is in desperate need of some TLC, but full of potential. We will be transforming her into a compact overlander and trail-ready 4x4, documenting every step on YouTube, starting September 2026.

We’ll get our hands dirty and do much of the work ourselves, but not alone. We are excited to be backed by our main partner Opposite Lock, along with other partners.

WHEN

The build starts half September 2026, estimately taking 3-4 months.

GOAL

Build a weekend warrior, ready for offroad overlanding adventures.

join and support the project

Okay, let’s be honest with you: this was partly an impulsive decision, and we’re still not entirely sure we can pull it off. Mechanically, it’s going to be a challenge. Ideally, we want to swap the V8 engine for an original 300 Tdi, and there’s plenty more work to be done to turn this Defender into what we have in mind.

Financially, it’s a challenge too. We have some great partners on board already, but we don’t have all the funds yet to bring this project home. But we’ve made the decision: we’re starting.

We’re going to put all our time and energy into this project and document the entire journey along the way. And we’re hoping that, with your support, we can turn this slightly crazy idea into something really special. If you’d like to support the project, that would mean a lot to us. There are several ways you can get involved:

how it started

It didn't start off great actually. After 15 minutes on the road, the needle of the temperature gauge was rising quickly so we stopped asap...
